Curriculum:
The 5 Development Pathways
Our staff guarantee that your children will have enjoyable and thrilling sessions that adhere to the 5 Development Pathways, which include: Belonging, Communication, Wellbeing, Physical Development and Exploration.
Belonging
Children must be able to identify their own individual needs, preferences, aversions, and values, as well as those of others, and understand the role that each person plays in the broader community.
Communication
Children enhance their communication abilities to articulate their own needs, desires, and viewpoints. They acquire the ability to identify and comprehend the needs, desires, and viewpoints of others, fostering social connections with staff and peers.
Exploration
Children are encouraged to explore their own interests and curiosities, receiving support from educators. Through investigation and experimentation, they uncover new knowledge and gain an understanding of how things operate. Effective communication skills are developed to share their interests with peers.
Physical Development
Children enhance their motor skills, coordination, and equilibrium by engaging in a diverse array of physical activities and facing various challenges.
Well-being
Children are able to identify and appreciate emotions, interests, qualities, and choices within themselves and others. Through this recognition, they develop independence, resilience, and a deep respect for the autonomy of others.
Outdoor Play:
As much as possible, we enjoy taking sessions outdoors where possible. Playing outdoors allows all children to develop their self-confidence, independence, self-esteem and are enthusiastic about trying new activities.
Children have a variety of activities that they participate in the outdoors. Some of these include: Balance Bikes, Sport Activities, Mud Kitchen Play and Bringing learning indoors-out and outdoors-in.

Craft:
All children experience a wide range of materials (man-made and natural) to create models, pictures, collages etc.
After creating a craft piece, children either take home their unique creations or are displayed inside our Nursery.
Self-efficiency:
Children use a variety of tools during play dough and water/sand play sessions. Children are assisted when doing this. For example, when children use scissors in activities such as Play Dough sessions.
While children are enjoying themselves at play, they are also gaining skills which will assist them in their daily lives e.g. dining skills.
All children learn how to pour, measure, cut etc.

National Events:
Our staff choose a variety of national events that happen throughout the year.
Some of these national events include: World Earth Day, World Ocean Day, Child Cancer Awareness Month and Children Mental Health Day.
Children have the option to participate in these National Events. Whether dressing up or engaging in fun sessions run by staff.
Incorporating the Welsh Language:
Both staff and children incorporate the Welsh Language in a variety of different ways.
Children and staff learn the alphabet, colours, days of the week, numbering and learn simple phrases and commands.
In the Welsh language, we are categorised as ‘working towards’.
We visit our local library (Townhill Library) for their ‘Rhyme-time’ session every Friday. Children engage in singing both English and Welsh nursery rhyme songs.

Nutritional Meals:
Children can either fetch a packed lunch or have food specially prepared by the Café for £3 per child. Special diets can be catered for with some notice.
The Childcare Offer for Wales:
This helps with childcare costs for working parents of 3 to 4 year olds.
Under the Childcare Offer for Wales, you could claim 30 hours of early education and childcare in Wales a week, for up to 48 weeks of the year. Get full details here.

“The staff in the nursery are just amazing. They have done wonders for my son who isn’t the easiest. He found it difficult being away from me or his father. All staff persevered and never gave up on him and he now goes quite happily to nursery meaning I can go back to work there was a time where I didn’t think it would be possible. Have been using the nursery since 2015 and wouldn’t send my children to any other. Staff are always there to help and easy to communicate with. Also always willing to accommodate if I need an extra day some weeks this flexibility is priceless. Thank you girls
