Changes to concessionary bus passes 2019

Bus passes across Wales are being replaced with a new-style Transport for Wales branded concessionary travel card. All the current green coloured bus passes will expire on 31 December 2019.

There are over 65,000 bus passes in circulation in Swansea which have been issued to people on age or disability grounds. All of these pass holders will need to reapply for their passes before 31 December 2019 when their current passes will expire.

The reapplication process will start from 11 September and can be done online or by requesting a paper application form from the telephone Helpline which is being provided by Transport for Wales on behalf of the Welsh Government. Local Authorities will not be issuing any bus passes locally from 11 September.

The Phoenix Centre will be helping anyone who needs to reapply online and may find technology daunting. A team of volunteers will be opening up our brand new I.T suite for one hour every Wednesday to help those in our community who may need it.

We will be running our free IT hour to help our community re-apply for their passes every Wednesday – 12pm-1pm from October – December.

More info can be found here and you can reapply online here.
